[Bit early to give official bio on this particular guy. But it'll be a LOOONG time before I publish Cyro's Story. So I'm sure a little tease won't hurt.]

Biography

Cyro was born in the shadows. Before becoming Cyro, he was a toa until the makuta reforged him into a monstrous warrior to serve in their plans to dominate the matoran universe. But try as they might, they couldn't fully stamp out the light of the hero they had enslaved. Over time during his training under his dark masters, Cyro began to question not only the makuta's intent, but his own destiny. Eventually, he broke free from the makuta and found the Order of Mata Nui, allying with them to break his slaver's operation.

Cyro couldn't regain his life as a toa, but he didn't need to. He had rediscovered the hero he had once sworn to be, and would continue to serve as a hero with the Order of Mata Nui.

Figure Blabber

(This is a commentary section where I talk about the moc, both its character and its construction. This will hopefully provide some intriguing insight on not only the design of the figure, but the role the character will play in the story.)

Cyro is one of my all-time favorite mocs and the first titan that I ever built who gained a character. He was a part of a building series I made with the theme of building titan mocs out of a single-color scheme (you'll find his original look and the other titans I built in my 2nd Generation MOCs gallery). I didn't have much in the way of black armor pieces at the time, which turned out to be a strike of fortune as the need to utilize silver allowed me to not only spice up his look but also come up with an original head design. In due time, I decided to give all figures in the series characters and role in a storyline; and, since Cyro had won my heart, he became the main protagonist.

I've posted this version before. Made a few minor yet significant changes since then.

1. His head. Now, not only is it not flat, but I've also changed where his eyes are- or eye-lenses, rather; he is wearing a helmet- so he appears a little less alien (whatever that means in the Bionicle universe). He's been messed up in his transformation, but not THAT messed up. So I thought it best that his eyes appear to be on the front of his head, not the sides like before.

2. His hands. I've gotta be honest: I'm not a fan of articulated fingers anymore. They look cool, but it's a pain to work with them when your MOC's supposed to actually hold stuff. Upon revisiting, I found a way to pull of him holding his sword with relatively normal looking hands.

3. Speaking of the sword, it has a crossguard now; a feature that's commonly lacking in MOCs, so I've noticed. I get it: they were never big in Bionicle in the first place. But I've recently become a fan of medieval mechanics with weapons and decided it would help Cyro to have a crossguard on his enemy-hacker. It makes the sword look a little more unique too.
