Description
Hey! I have two webcomics where you can see this in action: Miamaska and Trial of the Sun . If you liked these tutorials give them a shot!Check out part 1:The Body- fav.me/d2j3z86
Check out part 2:Lady Faces- fav.me/d2k4ym6
Part 3: Male Faces! Long awaited I know. I'm terrible. Next one's in two-three months, on age and weight! I am quite terrible at giving estimates. Hopefully it'll come out in August!
All those characters up there are copyrighted to their respective owners, I do not claim ownership to any of them.
This tutorial series was inspired in part by an article on the TvTropes website. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php... Click there to see more examples!

This is magnificent. Thank you for tackling this incredibly frustrating phenomenon. Another infuriating thing is how "professional" drawing tutorials often focus on different features for men and women (obviously facial hair is a different thing, it's great to cover that), as if hair for example is much more important for women and you may as well give the same nose to all of them. They also tend to assume everyone knows how to draw men, women are trickier (my theory is that it has to do with your own gender. Almost all the female artists I know have more trouble drawing men).

Yes, muscleman, I want fresh baked cookies
I love musclemen who bake cookies and answer toy phones handed to them by two year olds and pretend to have a full conversation with "the person on the other line"

Characters are always my favorite thing to draw. These are some wonderful things to keep in mind! I really liked the facial hair part because it really can add to a character and I like the examples you give. I personally stink at drawing facial hair and need to work on it.
I think this is absolutely the BEST tutorial on character creation that I've ever seen.

I've favourited all the tutorials because you're highlighting an important issue.
I am faceblind, meaning I'm having trouble identify people based by looks. If everyone is looking similar (fashion, uniform etc) I cannot tell the difference who is who.
It is extremely troublesome when you become a victim of a crime and is unable to identify your attacker.

I loved this tutorial. I usually fav and run, but this one is comment worthy. Easy vocabulary and not-overdone.
The fplow of the reading is easy and tranquil, the bit of comedy makes the learning easier. Also, the suggestions of ways to practice, which I have only seen few times before is great. as well as the exposition of famous well-known examples so that peopel can see how important differenciating your characters is. Congrats on amaking an amazing and amazingly easy to follow tutorial!
