Officially designated as “escort vessels to protect Cordian Mercantile, Ltd’s commercial transports”, the true purpose of these marauders is common knowledge. The signature marauder of the Cordian Syndicate, the Akula is feared among spacers for its deadly capabilities. The Akula is designed to slip up on a target vessel, wound or disable it with a surprise strike with its disruptor spinals, and then either destroy it or lock onto it for boarding. If the Akula meets with significant resistance or is on a kill mission, the mil-spec heavy AP lancer spinals and tremendous missile firepower- 120 missiles per volley from six LRM batteries- make swift work of anything short of a warship.
