Description
Inspired by, though not necessarily illustrating any one particular incident from the novel, "The Three Musketeers", we see a rather drunk Athos and a rather dead adversary. The idea came from a scene where D'Artagnan finds that Athos has more or less walled himself into a wine cellar, routinely fighting off two Englishmen. I love the episode, however, I didn't want to illustrate it directly as much as just capture the duel nature (heh...duel) of the book, whimsical and fun whilst killing and maiming people left and right. When one stops and thinks about it, it is a bit weird. But we forget how Wild West the world was till the twentieth century, and still is in many parts. Still going through an Arthur Rackham style coloring phase, I suppose I should go back to black and white at some point. Oh well! Any comments welcomed!
