Description
In honor of the final season of Legend of Korra, may I present, well, Korra. To be honest, Korra's become one of my favorite characters, right up there with Bilbo, Tintin, Gawain and, of course, Katara. And because of that I was stumped as to what to do as far as art goes. Still not sure, but this was fun to do! Korra in her new Water Tribe costume standing amongst the billowing mists of the ages, Avatar Wan atop the Tree of Time, looking across the millennia. Dude, you totally nailed the Booth look in the background. Those lines have a bit of a curve to them and a nice tapering effect. Makes for a really cool background element. I know that's not the focus of the picture, but it's what caught my eye. Nice work!

Thank you very much, from you that's a great compliment! I kinda got away from Booth for bit, trying more of an Arthur Rackham look, but low and behold I'm coming right back to him again, I guess you can never argue too much with natural inclination. Anyway, I'll have a new picture coming up soon featuring the poet W B Yeats so keep an eye out, I'm going Booth to hilt for this one and I'd love to hear what you think of it!

The Franklin Booth ProjectAnyone who has followed me for a while knows I'm a big fan of Franklin Booth, the brilliant 20th century pen and ink illustrator. I continually get inspiration from looking at his drawings, but, unfortunately, the few books that feature his work are out of print. Since I can't see them "in real life", I've been collecting high-resolution images of his illustrations online. I finally got around to creating a web page to put all these images in one place, for the benefit of anyone who is interested. http://outsidelogic.com/franklinbooth
So far I have 27 images. There are thumbnails, which expand to medium-res pictures when clicked, and then there are links to full-size images. My only criteria were that the images be at least 1000px in either height or width. They are in no particular order and I don't provide any context in terms of when or why there were published. They are just there to be enjoyed, studied, inspired by, and marvelled at.
