A brief sketch for an idea I had not long ago for the lit community.
I didn't go into anything on the submission side. More or less this is the presentation side one would see as they click on a Lit deviation.
I'm sure most of you don't know that I actually came to deviantART as a writer. It took a few years before I fell into what I'm doing here, now.
I've been meaning to re-upload some of my older work, and it occurred to me as I thought about doing so how entirely in need of help that whole process really is.
I hope this one is actually considered seriously. It could really improve our Lit system by leaps and bounds... and make it FUN to read again!!!
As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This would totally make my day if dA were to implement this. The majority of the stuff in my gallery is mostly lit. and trying to link chapters together just plain stinks. At least on fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com they have a function that allows you to add chapters to a story. This would be great for authors and readers alike. Thanks for the idea! It's great & could improve dA for the lit aspect!

well, it's only an idea. I don't think anyone who submits to this category has any real intention of these seeing the "light of day". But having people come to this piece, favorite it, comment on it, reveal their passion and need for it.... well then at least it's likely to be seen, right? So I say unto you, tell your friends! Feature it! Throw it against the wall very loudly and watch it bounce back!!... all the while shouting: "I believe in possibilities!"

Oh I know the feeling. I used to write a great deal of poetry... and a system like this could allow someone like me to create an 'anthology' of sorts. A faux book, really. And that thought in and of itself----to be able to see your work look 'professional' in a place off your computer's desktop would be entirely awesome.

This is JUST what I need! xD Part of the reason I don't like to post literature here is because I have to submit a different deviation of each chapter. Even if the chapters are organized into folders, it still looks quite messy...

Yep. I didn't really take the time to conceive of how the actual submission side would work... but I'm sure the geniuses behind the curtains can think their way through it. When it comes to conceptual though, dA is pretty damned good. hopefully something like this will see the light of day!

Dude I absolutely love this idea! The way DA lit is set up right now I feel compelled to shrink all my writing to poetry and short stories. If this change were actually taken into account though it would be SOO much easier and more convenient to start working on and posting full-length novels and the like.
I think it would help artists too, in a way. There are many many comic artists on DA, and the chapter suggestion would definitely keep the flow of the longer comics going.

Ah, I hadn't considered comics. That's an excellent application for the idea. People who write plays and screenplays would therefore get the most of it, too!

YESSSSSS!!! I'd love for this idea to become reality! I sometimes foget to link my chapters in AC and sometimes it drives me up the wall trying to find all my chapters.
