THANKS FOR THE DD!! YOU GUYS ARE ALL AWESOME! Literature Gallery: Chapters and Annotation Assignment
A brief sketch for an idea I had not long ago for the lit community.
I didn't go into anything on the submission side. More or less this is the presentation side one would see as they click on a Lit deviation.
I'm sure most of you don't know that I actually came to deviantART as a writer. It took a few years before I fell into what I'm doing here, now.
I've been meaning to re-upload some of my older work, and it occurred to me as I thought about doing so how entirely in need of help that whole process really is.
I hope this one is actually considered seriously. It could really improve our Lit system by leaps and bounds... and make it FUN to read again!!!
As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

And I'd be very excited to see somethign along these lines happen. I'm positive the improvement would be for scriptwriting and playwriting equally as endless as it would be for us novelists and poets.

I'm not a writer of any kind, but I can see the huge benefit of thise! An absolutely great idea and a well deserved DD to go with it!

I think that's a truly fabulous idea. Chapters have been an awkward issue for any multi-part submission, and the neatness this would bring to lit submissions is awesome. The annotations are also cool, much easier to comment on a particular section, especially in a longer piece.

So have you actually coded this out, or is it some vague pipe dream.. It's all good and fine to put the
idea forward, but not being able to do what you
suggest is just silly.

I was rather skeptical of this idea at first. But now that I look at it closer. It's a very good idea.
The chapter addition would be an excellent idea!

Ah! I'm very glad to hear you've given it some thought.
It was hard for me when I came here, doing solely literature stuff. So much so that it wore on me, because it was such a drag to read my peer's work I couldn't/didn't want to keep up. Inevitably, I left that account and moved to visual art/design because I felt like I could be more "in the community" (if that makes sense).
I still consider myself a writer before anything, but because of the Lit community's unintended low points, I still won't share my work here anymore. Hence the idea. I'd like to come back to Literature here and feel refreshed about it!

I am a writer myself. I had no idea I even had the gift until I started, and now I've accumulated quite a fan base!
This has affected me so much that I've now decided to try my hand at an actual book after I finish my series here.
And good luck on returning. This idea would make that a bit easier for sure.

Honestly, that's exactly how it went for me, too. Only my dA experience wasn't so good. More it was the encouragement of acquaintances who I had asked to read my stuff that had me feeling confident that I was talented there and not just suffering delusions of grandeur. And of course after writing my first novella, I feel very confident in seeing it get published.
I'm very happy for you in your endeavors, and wish you all the best as far as getting your name out there. Would be so cool!
