Still mimicking the tv show opening. I can't wait to be able to draw him by memory!!
Yep! Astro Boy is so fun to draw!!
This time I tried shading all of him. At first, I did the original sharp shading (as still seen on the boot) but then I couldn't help but slightly blend it.

First off, I like the angle here! The expression is great and the shading is perfect! The lineart is also done very well here. The best part of this drawing is that everything seems to be very neat and clean. Not as much smudges or sketchmarks as I would expect when looking at a penciled sketch.
The lined paper is still a bit of a problem though, but I honestly can't say anything bad about this piece. You did a really great job of emulating the style and capturing a truly epic moment.
Heehee, all it needs is a colored version to top it off!

When I first saw this, it did have a certain '60's feel to it, then I read about it ... pretty nifty.

Heheheh. I'm still drawing him in the 2003 TV show style, but Astro's look hasn't changed too much since his first appearing.

You're right, it hasn't changed too much since he first appeared.
To be honest, I'm not sure. There's one part that says, "whichever you're more comfortable doing" and another part that says "challenge yourself" but in either event it's a tough call.
As you've noticed, I am a bit more verbal with your OC's.
