Description
Yes, I was in fitting room again... ^^"I was struck with the luck of having a black and blue pen, and decided to draw the Blue Blur. Once I got home from work, I went scouring for all the different colored pens I could find. I managed to get a nicer black pen and a decent red one. I was rather annoyed that we didn't have much else. I used a sharpe for his eye, and an orange highlighter for his buckle. Wish I could have found something for his skin...all well.
It turned out rather nice. (Except that back hand.... I hate that hand. Suddenly I was reminded as to why I don't like drawing in pen... I CAN'T FIX IT!!)
Funny, I wanted to draw something really special on this date. Instead, I forgot about it, and ended up drawing Sonic without thinking. Well, it's a major achievement for my pen drawings. Guess that will work.
Hope ya'll enjoy!!

Psh, I can't even draw with pencil XD
That is way past cool! And the back hand is fine, it just looks a little smudged from the light mistakes. That's mainly why I don't draw in pen.
Congratulations! you earned and awesome and meaningless sonic medal!

Heheh. Thanks.
I was mostly messing around and he happened to turn out decent. I know what you mean. I'm a slave to my eraser, so the pen kinda turns everything upside down. Funny thing is, I ended up getting into coloring with pens, and bought myself a big pack with different colors. I created a more controlled method too. I now draw a picture in pencil, outline it in pen, erase the page, and then color it in pens.
In that way, they turn out like this:
SQUEE!! I will cherish it forever!

My eraser normally runs out before my lead does. I use different sizes of mechanical pencils, thinner ones for more detail. I won't dare try pen because heck, I can't even draw a circle right my first try. Takes me at least three sketches of a circle to get it right. I only scribble with pens, normally a horrible looking cow or cat face or something. nothing detailed. I still find drawing fun, even taking two and a half hours on one and staying up past midnight (however, when I'm too tired I can't think straight).

Haha! I can relate very much! I'm always going through erasers, drawing for hours on a single picture, and staying up way past when I should. I think it's a typical artist thing.
What I do to draw circles is lightly go around several times, then erase the outer and inner edges until it makes a perfect circle.
Those detailed pen artworks were drawn with pencil first. I'm no where near good enough to do it all in pen alone.

It probably is a typical artist thing XD
I attempt to draw a circle lightly going around and trying to keep it round. that always phails though, so I just kind of keep making lines around it until it's where I need it to be. It works pretty well, but I've heard the "going around several times" method works better. I can't keep my hand steady above the paper that long though, so I find it difficult to maintain a constant pressure and distance from the paper.
That's okay! pencil drawings are always cool, especially when there's a remarkable amount of details.

"The Blue Blur" haha!
I tried that game a couple of times. I got aggravated because I kept running off of cliffs and such.
Anyway, you messed up on the hand? Now that you mention it, I notice. I've noticed you do very well with Sonic characters.
Hey look, is that shading you did with the pen? Wow! You just raised the bar on me, for something I had rattling in my brain (started a few days ago, will continue after I get through a minor thought quagmire in my story).
Yeah, I'm impressed. I don't want to think of how something I did in pen, would look. You did an excellent job here. Hey, remember my scrimshaw pieces without the pencil sketch being done first? That's along those lines.
Cheers!

Heheheh
Lol! I like Sonic himself, as well as his games. I'm rather obsessed, really.
(I got figures, shirts, skins, games, read the comics, watched the shows, as well as owning the entire Sonic X seasons, and I recently acquired a Sonic clip on watch!! )
Yeah, they seem to lend into my style quite nicely.
(And I can draw him by heart. I didn't look him up at all for this, or the last few)
Yep! Raised the bar? Are you drawing something?
(You did say that you were going to pick up the pencil again)
"Quagmire" Niiiiiicccceeee!!
What! What's a scrimshaw? ^^"

He's a cool character. I have a house rule that if I ever get a hedgehog as a pet, he's going to be named Sonic. I don't believe ME law allows people to keep hedgehogs, so that does stink.
I noticed that your style, while it is most definitely yours, is very much styled after Sonic. Oh! I just read on an art essay that said to know your artistic heritage. funny that comes up.
Yeah. I'm going to TRY anyway. Not going to say anything more. No details, no hints. Nuh-uh.
It is a good word. I'm in the process of writing chapt 16 - and it's a mess. Well, not the writing, but the situation being experienced is messy, and I'm having to figure out what the people involved would say.
By the way, I loaded Chapter 3.
Scrimshaw, by the actual definition, is the engraving of a whalebone. The scrimshaw that I was referring to was the gourd scrimshaw work: [link]

Lol!! ME TOO!!
Actually, I learned how to draw using Pokemon!! It just so happens that I can EASILY branch over to Sonic, because they're soooooo close! (Hmm.... I may have to take a look at that...)
Lol! You're becoming Mr. Mystery as of late.
Yes it is.
Ah! To bad I don't know what's going on.
I just saw. I'll have to see it later though, being so late and all.
Ha! So I was close!! That was the first thing that came to mind!
Oh! I saw that you got 2 new watchers today!! And the one seems AWFULLY INTERESTED in your Dragon Mage story!! 8D
I'm sooooo proud of you!!
I told you that you'd get noticed over time!!

That's right, I remember reading that you learned with Pokemon.
has some great stuff to read. He's very inspiring.
Just with stories and artwork! I don't want to give away the story with "Dragon Mage" because I want to maintain interest.
I figured. I wanted to have it uploaded last night so you could have had today to look at it, but as you can see, that didn't really work out. I suppose it's for the better because I tweaked it today as I was typing it out, and it looks much better; I just added a couple of paragraphs of information. I have a question just for you - what are your thoughts on the characters you see in the chapter? There's two with some workable information, and those I'm definitely interested; a third pops in, if you have input, that's great, but it may not be enough for an impression. Dunno.
I saw that too!
Thank you!
