Childhood: since the beginning (as Spritloo) he was an odd ball and an outcast from his peers. But, Spritloo was very joyful and oblivious. He never did well in his Spirit studies, but always had an insatiable curiosity of fleshies and the world outside of the Twilight Realm.
Most important childhood event that still affects him/her: Spritloo left the Twilight Realm for the first time.
Why/How? He got used to the sun's burning rays, was caught by his father, and banished to the Realm of Light. All of this lead to him becoming Jestloo, Guardian of the Mirror Rod.

Backstory: Spritloo (jestloo.deviantart.com/art/Spr… is from the spirit clan known as the "Pucknix."
The clan, as a whole, is not a huge fan of "fleshies." They keep to themselves in their twilight world, and never attempt to make contact to the outside. They hate the sunlight, for it burns them. In the normal light, their entire body's are see through. Most are gloomy, pessimistic, and serious.
Spritloo is the big quirk in his species. For starters, he's mostly mad (insane). It is quite difficult to continue a intelligent conversation with him. He is also very happy, energetic, and extremely oblivious. Always being the outcast (due to his strange behavior), Spritloo was never interested in his "spirit studies." Instead, he had an extreme interest in the things of "fleshies." So strong was his desire to know about the world outside of the twilight, that Spritloo began sneaking out. At first, he would only come out during the night, due to the burning sun. He was hooked on his first night. The fleshies' world was colorful, huge, and teaming with lots if interesting living things. But, that world was asleep during the night. So, Spritloo would test the evening hours. At first, the he burned from the evening rays, but his desire pushed him through, and he slowly became accustomed to it. As time went on, Spritloo managed to go more into the daylight hours, until he was completely immune from the sun's penetrating rays. He spent his time watching the fleshies living out their daily activities.
Spritloo's disappearances didn't go unnoticed, however. His cousin, Nasal, became aware of his even "odder" behavior, and started to spy on him. When he found out that Spritloo was leaving the twilight to be with the fleshies, Nasal panicked and told his uncle (Spritloo's father).
His father was the leader of the tribe, and was already embarrassed by Spritloo's extreme awkwardness. Thinking that Spritloo would return after being exposed to the sun, Shadeus banished him to the outside world. (Normally, banishment was very torturous, due to the intense pain that was wrought by the sun) But, since Spritloo was accustomed to its rays, he left happily and wandered Kotia.
Spritloo's oddity piqued the interests of Ixx, one of two gods of Kotia. Being pleased with him, Ixx bestowed to Spritloo the Mirror Rod. Also changing him to be better fit as the new Guardian. Spritloo's named was changed to Jestloo, and his life was given purpose. Jestloo has forever been great-full to the gods and helps the Motaukeh (Luca) in anyway he can.
Now, Jestloo lives withing the Kotian village. He interacts with fleshies daily and is best of friends with Luca and his family. (He even enjoys tea time with Luraino)

Additional Notes on This Character:
- Jestloo can "sprint" at extreme speeds. When he does, he takes on a more "ice skating" motion. A light blue effect forms and slightly trails from his feet.
- Jestloo's kind is usually see through, but due to prolonged exposure to the sun, his body has taken a more "solid" form.
- Jestloo's bells on his hat and ears sound like faint, ghostly sleigh bells.
- Because he never sleeps, Jestloo usually sits outside at night and patiently waits for morning.
- Jestloo can see perfectly. Even with no source of light.
- Jestloo never blinks.
-Jestloo can float/ hover anytime he wishes, and go through objects.

First off, I'll begin with what I like; gotta love those eyes, and the reflection that comes off of them, on the chest, and on his boots. I like the wrinkles on his sleeves and the shading you did here, it's very well done. I have no idea what the background is supposed to be but I guess it fits with his personality, surreal and all. Also, Jestloo has a tail, I didn't know that.
Everything feels right except the midsection; there doesn't seem to be much of a waist so it kind of goes off as awkward looking.

He was born without a waist! I think I found the reason for his madness! XD But it's not much of a flaw, I just feel like he needs a bit more of a midsection since his crotch kinda sinks into his body (that didn't sound strange did it?).

Awesome, I started my similar character, I just can't get my dude's face right. Yeah, it is Nullnero and he is one annoying bastard to draw. Jestloo looks awesome, I had mutilate zombie creatures one time called Dulfieres but they were taken from a nightmare I had, and I eventually decided that they were not t be drawn again, as they gave my younger sister nightmares. Nullnero looks normal, but slightly demonic, and is a physical being, but he cannot be immobilized and his fighting skill is near zero. Whether or not is immortal, is still in thought, i think dying just means nothing to him. He has a back story, consumed by revenge, and swallowed by hell are the basics. He is a good bad guy, and has decided to kill all gods, good and bad, so that humans may rule their fate, and the greatest of men may become the new Gods. He wasn't born as a demon of a dark god, but resurrected by Chaos, and decided to raise a new plethora of gods.

I love how this is like a big compiliation (if that's spelled right) of everything written pertaining to him. (I only just now realized that the title is "Jestloo: Bio" OTL)
It's really interesting, and I learned a few more things about him too.
I like the additional notes at the end a lot. Some of them answer questions that I didn't know I wanted answered (like the explanation of why his body is so longer transparent) and some of them are just interesting or funny, like how he never blinks. That would probably be a bit unnerving if I were talking to him, and he just kept staring... xD

Spritloo was mostly insane. When Ixx turn him into the Guardian of the Mirror Rod, he changed Spritloo and renamed him Jestloo. Because of Ixx, Jestloo has been mostly cured from his mental illness. (He wasn't completely cured because it would ruin his personality)

I'm going to have to come up with some new adjectives. Your work is of such quality that, I feel as though I'm using some of the same phrases, and to me they sound stale. It's getting hard to comment without being repetitious. I can only highlight things, at this point. Of course, the reason I struggle is that the quality continues to be OUTSTANDING! ... and you keep trying to get better and outdo yourself, and you are overall successful.
I love how your work is "cartoon" style but yet, the viewer knows there was a lot of effort invested. All the same, you make it look easy. Bravo.
There's a lot of detail going on in this picture, that I feel bad for picking one or a few, because it's as though I'll be missing something.
But, it is the little things - the hair at the top of his head, the tufts at the cheek, and looking into the sleeve being done in a manner that is relatively realistic. The way he's holding his hat is natural, as is the way he's extending his hand. The only thing I question is that he seems to be inviting the viewer to follow him, and he's more of a follower than a leader; I would wonder why he would be in this posture. That said, I really like the pose, and I'm sure there are times when this would be perfect representation for him.
I like the veil at the end tail, and the way the hat flops is natural ...
I like the way you light your subjects. It's almost like "fantasy light," which fits them very well. There's not one single source of light - it's wherever you need it to be to shade in a real manner and bring out the shine in the objects you choose. (Did any of that just make sense?)
I do like how you put a shine on things, like gems. Once again, it's colored in a way that one would expect a high quality fantasy to be colored.
All in all, Jestloo looks alive here.
So far as your characterization goes, I have to say that there's nothing there that surprises me, and is pretty much everything I would have imagined from just seeing him.
Overall, you did, as usual, an outstanding job.
