Description
With its remote location, one would assume that the Maharlika Research Facility would be spared from the fighting of the Dominion War. This would be proved wrong when it was attacked by a Jem'Hadar strike force in early 2374. The facility's only pair of sentries - the USS Seneca and USS Grimsvotn, were hard pressed to defend the station. Starfleet ultimately lost the battle, overwhelmed by sheer enemy numbers. The battered Seneca barely escaped the engagement, but was able to ferry the station's survivors to an allied starbase.
