Description
This is a picture I made for the Secret Santa X9 Gift Art thread last Christmas.The background, so you all know, is a photo I took of Toronto, Canada from the famous CN Tower. No way in heck I was going to draw all those buildings by hand! XD
I like this piece for it's message. A heart warming scene between a student and his master....Well, kind of, if you consider Red Axl's master from their time in Red Alert. I see him more of a father figure, personally.

I couldn't agree more about how Axl must've seen Red as a fatherly figure. He really must've been heartbroken when Red finally died.

But hey, as long as they aren't absolutely miserable. Axl's a peppy guy, he'll get through no matter what.

Inspiring, and endearing... I love this, because I can actually see Red showing Axl how big the world is, and telling him that one day he must carry on to help protect it from the danger of Mavericks, even if it means Axl has to do it without Red some day. T^T It reminds me of that adorable scene in Disney's "The Lion King," when Mufasa tells his son Simba "Everything the light touches, will be yours..." (Cue Axl going "Wooow...!" like Simba ^^).
In this case, the world will be Axl's to protect using the skills he's learned from Red, eventually fighting alongside with two other skilled Maverick Hunters X and Zero.

Yeah, this piece just formed together like this. The original request was to simply make an illustration with Red and Axl. I can't recall if this was the first thing that came to mind or not... Bit it does have an apparent backstory, doesn't it? Than you for your kind words.
