Description
This one's for Casandro. This person came to me on DA here not long ago and asked for a commission. A commission of which was quite an odd, yet at the same time, so very appropriate combination of ideas.

I was asked to construct a animalized mecha-cyborg sky pirate... Thing. I have no idea what to call this really. I just like the concept.

The main reference (aside from some very good drawings done by some other people) were to take influences from the 90's animated cartoon TailSpin. Well, being a bit of a flygirl and a animation fan myself, I found that intriguing, so I took a swing at it. This was the result.

The character of whom I based this off of is Don Karnage, the devious sky pirate captain from the TailSpin series. I actually did the character with traditional media; drawing it out and coloring it by hand using pencil, micron pens, and markers. Oh, I used a bit of pencil crayon for smoothness too.

I did sick PhotoShop on the image for some cleanup and obviously the background though. I think my traditional media skills are so rusty that I need my PS backup to make anything look half decent. Turns out, the recipient of the work was happy regardless, so all's well. Phew.
