Description
Merlin opens the door for you, and you return to your seat in between Gwaine and Arthur. Merlin returns to his spot behind Arthur. Arthur turns to you and says, “Well, (Y/n), how was your tour of the castle? I’m sure Merlin did a terrible job at showing you around.”
“Merlin did fine, Arthur. Your castle is just as grand as it was when we were younger” you reply.
“The only person left to arrive is King Rodor and the lovely princess Mithian” Arthur announces.
“I didn’t know you were allies with Nemeth” you state.
“We have had a rocky past, but we are passed that now” Arthur replies.
“(Y/n) we have not had the chance to have a proper conversation since I arrived. I’ve never been to (kingdom). What is it like?” Annis asks.
“Well (kingdom) is quite beautiful. There are lots of old buildings full of history as well. Plus my people are very kind. You should come and visit some time. You are welcome to come whenever you have time” you offer to Annis.
“That is very kind of you. I return the offer. You are welcome to Caerleon anytime you wish.” Annis returns.
“I’m glad that the two of you get along so well. I hope you will get along with Rodor and Mithian just as well” Arthur says while beaming.
“We have just received word that King Rodor will not make it until midday tomorrow” Percival says as he enters the room.
“Merlin show (Y/n) back to her chambers” Arthur commands the servant.
“Of course, sire.” Merlin responds with a bow.
As Merlin walks you back to your chambers, you walk up to him and grab his hand when no one is looking. He smiles to himself and intertwines your fingers. You smile to yourself at his response. When you get to your room, he tries to pull away, but you say, “Merlin, stay. We haven’t been given proper time to catch up.”
“As you wish” he says with a smile and follows you into the room. (A/N Sorry I had to make the Princess Bride reference.)
You two talk like you haven’t been apart for months. You realize how much you like Merlin and how much you’ve missed him. You abruptly stop talking and hug him. He hugs you back almost immediantly. You guys sit there in silence just hugging, and enjoying each other’s presences. You look at him. You kiss him on the cheek and say, “Why are you so sweet, Merlin? I’ve never met anyone like you before.”
“If it’s any help, I’ve never met anyone quite like you before either, milady. You’re so kind, understanding, and beautiful. I-“ Merlin is caught off by a knock on the door.
“May I help you?” You ask through the door.
“Yes. Have you seen Merlin?” Arthur asks.
You shove Merlin to the side of the room and open the door. “Yes, He just left to head to your room.” You cover for Merlin.
“Ahh. Thank you. Goodnight (Y/n).” Arthur says.
“Goodnight Arthur.” You respond while shutting the door.
“Thank you for covering for me. You’re a much better liar.” Merlin says.
“It’s not lying if you are heading to his room. Goodnight Merlin.” You kiss him on the cheek.
“Goodnight, milady.” He says as you shut the door.
