Description
“Who can say when this city was built, or what ancient race constructed it? Were its builders much like us – or were they more like the sentient beings who live in spires above the clouds, or tunnels deep beneath the earth? Those who never see the sky tell of even stranger creatures: pale, blind, barely mobile things that somehow derive sustenance from the city’s liquid wastes. Some are said to spend their whole lives clinging to a single pipe – but who knows where they go in dreams?”

The proportions on this thing really give it a creepy vibe. Great work!

Amazing drawing. Did you write the text or is that some quote out of some Lovecraft or Stephen King story?

The text's all mine. Lovecraft might have been an influence, King definitely wasn't.

If you ever got around to making a guide of all you're creatures with their wonderfully macabre tales.. I would definitely buy the first copy. This is wonderful! you truly remind me of one of my favorite artists (*nato hatori www.wwwcomcom.com ) I couldn't believe what luck I had stumbling upon this your depth and dark imagination are truly a treat

Everything about this appeals to me. Its name, its design, its environment, the idea that it might just hang off the same pipe sucking sewage for its entire life...it's poetry.

amazing i like the idea of just going walking and finding this thing...just...HANGING THERE....doing absolutely nothing....barelly knowing if it's alive and too freaked out to even test the theory, it's like a train wreck, you don't want to see it but you can't look away

This is amazing!!
Do you think you'll ever finish the story?
Because (I'm not trying to ask anything of you) I think it would be even more awesome at full-length.

A lot of my pictures start with a story and I've written a few longer ones but haven't posted them online. I've got vague plans for a dystopian novel that includes some of the images, themes and creatures from the Necromechanics series (this picture would fit perfectly) though the same goes for Scorched Earth and Occult Creatures and for now I'm focusing on visual work.

Thanks man. Last week was pretty stressful and I got less done than usual but things are looking up again. This pic's been on my mind for a while, didn't take me very long and turned out better than expected.

Quite impressing honestly : ) it mixes between a mutated creature and just a damned once was human. Not speaking literally, just the feel it gives to me : ) by the way, I would love to ask if you would be able to spare a few ideas, if I requested them, ofcourse, not ones you've already made?

you sent me one? am afraid I didn't Mr. Flaxman. I will take another look at my inbox, but if you would be kind enough, can you use the deviantart notes to resend the email? I apology for such an odd request, but it seems that Hot mail and my Macbook aren't very close friends anymore :3
