Β A faceless minion of the one we honour with garrottes and nooses, who appears before hanged men to consume the seed they spill and strangles her offspring with their own umbilical cords. Though no larger than human children, these beings can overwhelm strong opponents through lashing and entangling them before dragging them into the shadows they use as gateways between worlds.Related content

Interesting, it reminds me a bit of a Cenobite (I guess the kids nowadays would say it reminds them of Silent Hill) and a bit of the Alarune story . . . but you've given it an interesting twist of your own with the backstory.Β

I'm a big fan of Hellraiser, but the aesthetic here's more Silent Hill. I've never played any of the games but an ex-flatmate was a fan, and I learned what I know of the series from the first film and online research. The visuals really strike a chord and I used some photos from the ruins of the Brescia warehouse - one of my favourite Sydney haunts - for the floor and background.
The mythos owes a bit to Ixtab, the Mayan goddess of suicides (especially by hanging) and unrelated Western superstitions.

I've seen plenty in my time but used no direct references for the creature here. I used some urbex photos for the background and they helped with the skin tones and texture.
