Thank you very much For this painting, I use around 25 layers from background, skin, eyes and nose features, hair to the textures for the clothes. Don't worry about using too many layers, sometimes I can use double or even triple and more for my paintings like   and   I hope this helps

wow O_O that's a lot of layers.

I notice that you always use black background and white outline. is it mandatory or does it have any effect to the result?

The black background and the white lines can be any colour. I think most people use a grey and red outline, but its totally down to the individual, I've just got use to doing those colours
