Here's Thom-293 from the Halo Reach 'Deliver Hope' commercial. You see him pick up the bomb after his team mate Kat is wounded, flying up with his jetpack to blow up the Covenant battlecruiser. Sadly, he didn't escape the blast...or did he? Spartans never die, they're just MIA.Thom is a repaint of the Noble Six McFarlane Halo Reach figure done in gray this time, with added range of articulation in the knees, hips, and arms. His custom made jetpack was made from a GI Joe Stormshadow pack and when you press the button, the thrusters flip out from the sides. I made him the bomb he uses as well from various fodder pieces.
This was for all you Reach fans who have been sending me email after email asking for Thom. Enjoy!

Originally Thom-293 was to be a surviving member for the Halo Reach game but was changed for unknown resins, he would have been one of two or three survivors like Jun-A266, and Rosenda-A344 would have,
but if I did a real life film I make it that it was in the original ideas and show it wasn't Thom getting killed inside but make it that he is one of the living members of Noble Team in future If I have money to make the film,

Did you know Thom-A293 in Halo Reach was going to be a living member of Noble Team in Bungies original ideas, but however the idea was scrapped during production as it would have been too much for the budget, however I do have plans for Thom to be Noble Seven in my version movie of mine, my plan is to have Thom-A293 a living member and also have him a Petty Officer First Class, and a surviving member of Reach using Bungies original ideas, instead taking Thom's place in Cannon version of the film will be Todd-A285 instead of Thom-A293, and Rosenda-A344 also is a new Noble Eight introduced to the team and Petty Officer Third Class,
However me and a friend of mine are having plans to create Halo Reach story artwork of the novels, my fiction will be that Thom's portrait will be based on Will Rothhaar's actors face, while Thom from Lone Wolf he along with Rosenda survive to regroup with Jun-A266 to get onto a Pelican and head onto the last Frigate to leave Reach,

How did you give him better articulation? I might want to do that to my McToys Halo figures.

You have to cut small sections out of the armor. Behind the knees is one spot, the groin are where the T-crotch is allowing them to sit at a 90 deg angle, widen the gap at the inner elbow, remove some of the armor on the back of the helmet's neck area, carve out under the armpits, stuff like that. Then repaint over those sections and you can't even tell.

I'm not a HALO player, but I love the story. I suck at FPS's, but I love to watch people play them. Most modern video games are like movies anyway. That being said, I find Reach kind of sad, y'know? We KNOW how it's gonna end. Not to say it's a bad gaming experience. It's just... well, those commercials, man. I've never felt so bad about a fictional historical event! I think I saluted and shed a friggin' tear when I saw Kat fall!! XD
