Description Edit
OMG, lol never expected this to get a DD but THANK YOU~
Hahah I guess it suits me a little being the button maker~

Download the File please!
I was not skilled enough to make a tutorial in photoshop so I onenoted it and PDF ed it. ahha

but yeah in response to the previous poll about tutorials, I did the how to make a button one.

hmm the tutorial is more about How I make my buttons so this doesn't cover all methods.

to show a sample of how i draw button chibis instead of doing a step by step process i just recorded what I did using livestream so if you are interested in that i gave the links in the tutorial..or just down here

Alois speed paint video [link]

other than that, this is my first time making a tutorial (if this is considered one) and man they are hard to make o.o

lol sorry about the spelling mistakes and the lack of layout.

this is more for those who are really interested in the process and also for those who are interested in possibly buying your own machine too.

by doing this tutorial, I learned how to use one note... a little xD

Hope this helps.

Great tutorial and congrats on the DD!
I'm kinda confused at one part, what do you mean by splice? And how much more expensive is photopaper? P.S. I think your button binder is genious

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jinyjin In reply to toetox3 [2011-07-06 10:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Actually printing on letter sized or just 4 by 6 photo is similar in price. Unless u print it home. Then it will be slightly cheaper. So it's just the matter of quality and effort I want to deal with. Photo is around 15-20 cents and letter sized usually is like 60-$1 right. So base price is similar. Whe I say splice I mean u flick the corner of the thick photo paper and rip the paper off and take the thin picture layer only. . And thanks

one question--When you draw, how do you get the perfect circle? 0.o I feel stupid asking this..
I know Paint Tool Sai doesn't have a circle tool, like Photoshop or Paint, is why I ask....

Not sure if you know but- lets just say I bought this machine and I bought buttons from another company because they were cheaper and had more. Would it still work on the machine I have or do I have to buy another machine?

oh great idea for the tutorial! i just bought a machine and 1000 buttons.. my cutting machine is no clipper sadly, becasue those were another 130 euro. I got a glass cutting machine with cutting stencil for around 40 euro. my buttons are 25mm, how much bleed area do i have to leave.. another 10 making it to 35mm ?

Sorry after rereading my comment I can understand your confusion. Never post when being sleepdeprived.

What I meant to say was:
"very informative. It has made me very clear I'll be forever buying my buttons!"
After all the trouble it is to make them I will buy as many bottuns on conventions as I can cary, to support all those who make them.
I personnaly do not have the patience to make them myself.

This was so helpful ! Thank you! *-* (I'll be looking for you & your buttons when I go to Canada next year 8D)
But I have a question,
when I want to print my picture then and the button is 1 inch, has the printout to be 1 inch, too? Or larger?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jinyjin In reply to NawaChan [2010-09-19 03:28:28 +0000 UTC]

umm the print circle itself is slight larger

what you do is take the template and print it to the exact dimensions

for my case 394 by 394 pixels in the same dpi is good

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NawaChan In reply to jinyjin [2010-09-19 11:32:44 +0000 UTC]

Thanks ^^
What resoultion do you think I need for ~2 1/4 inch buttons?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jinyjin In reply to NawaChan [2010-09-24 03:18:41 +0000 UTC]

its always good to keep 300dpi resolution for printing.

umm for the exact size try looking up online cause i am not sure xd
