Ah Jesus.

This took...roughly, and not counting weekends: FOREVER

Not only is this probably the most intricate piece I've yet to line digitally, but I ended up with a crazy-big (somewhere in the thousand-megabyte range) file during the later stages of coloring.

And then that stupid shadow was pissing me off.

And then I had to figure out a way around the background.

And then my PC crashed as I was trying to apply a Gaussian Blur, because I had forgotten to select only one layer, rather than the 50+ I ended up with.

Oh, right. About the actual subject matter: it's Mach Rider, from the old NES game of the same name. If somebody can pick out what's unusual about the background (which, really, shouldn't be that hard), they might get to see why exactly I had to draw this (not that I didn't want to, or didn't enjoy myself, mind).

EDIT - Yay, it's fully-realized! Isn't that border just snazzy as all get out? And while I was at it, I figured I'd throw in a nice pic-in-pic of Mach Rider's official artwork, way back from Nintendo's arcade days.

Technically he was remodeled for the trophy of him that was included in Melee, but...well, I think it looks retarded. My version's WAAAY cooler, in any case.
