Description
I wanted to prove to myself that I could do something vaguely resembling cell-shading. The wolf-dragon hybrid I created for *Cideth was a good opportunity to try it. This took far longer than it felt like it should have... but I guess it wasn't bad.Lineart in Adobe Illustrator (~2 hours). Colour in Adobe PhotoShop 7.0. (~4 hours). Background rendered using new brushes given to me by =Venator-Somniorum .

when i was young drawing (i've been drawing since i was 5 ) i read and article by boris vallejo about using real animals as a base for monsters. i always use a cat like body on my dragons but on this one i want to do a dragon that was dark and heavy. so i did the pittbull thing for his head. and if it can be

Oh, very cool! :3 Nice work.
Oh yes, I've read similar articles, not by Vallejo (who was a bit of an inspiration getting into realistic fantasy art), but by conceptual artists at Industrial Light and Magic and other special effects company. In designing creature appearances and behaviours in movies like Star Wars and Jurassic Park, they modelled real animal looks and behaviours to make the creatures seem plausible and, well, real.

I was wondering, may I use just semi-sort of his position for a picture im doing? Only mine will be different, like his wings. I just want to use his feet position, without the one with the orb tho. Ill change that a little too... His head will be in a different position also. THANK YOU!

Aww... Hehe, thank you very much!
Well, this isn't my usual style of shading... so I don't really know what to say on it. Try checking out my tutorials? Also, use lots of references - how are you supposed to make something look like something without studying what that something is? Observe a lot of art and pictures, and it really does help.
