I apologise for the poor quality - jpg compression made the stars look not as nice in the end, but anyways...Enjoy!

With the layer you want to apply noise to selected...
Filter - Noise - Add Noise

Thanks so much for this tutorial! To be honest, I've been floundering with stars for a while, so I told myself to look up a tutorial and understand how to do it. I learned a ton!

Haha, yeah, you didn't have to have to download it before, but just the way the old file updated with the newer systems, I guess :b

Great job with this! Thank you for this simple, but wonderful tutorial. Surely I'm going to use this for my New Year artwork.

Sorry, got my resources mixed up there. Your tutorial was very useful. I used it in conjunction with a number of other ones.

Hello, I really like this tutorial and I was looking for a star tutorial for a while now. But I have a problem when it comes adding noise. I can't click the check mark for Monochromatic (it's faded leaving me to believe it isn't an option). [link] I was wondering if you knew how to enable that option. Thank you in advance!

I think it may have to do with what colour mode you're in in Photoshop (eg. RGB, CMYK, Greyscale), but otherwise I haven't encountered the issue before!

Ah, okay I found out what the problem was. It was the color mode. xD;; Thanks!

Hi, I have a question.
When I have the settings of my noise, in the frame my noise looks good but when I put preview on it doesn't looks that good. There is a sort of white thing laying on it.

It's because your image is zoomed at only 25%, while the preview box is zoomed at 100%.

Haha, it's okay! I remember wondering the exact same thing: "It looks good here, so why does it look so different there? o_O"
