i once made a cd cover which was never published... the main song is "passer by" and a version of it is about swifts (which was originally a soothing song for my little daughter)... 
maybe you want to look at the swift and compare to your picture...

the voice on all of the songs is mine... in this particular case there is a guest singer, kim, 16 years old at the time of the recording... i met her at a garden party where she did some caraoke singing... i heard her and said wow what a nice voice and invited her for the recording...

yes, but swifts are no swallows, although they are quite similar - they are bigger and faster...
i love swallows too - we are lucky to have two sorts of swallows here... together with the swifts they fill the air in summer...

yes, they are very fast and they give peculiar "screeks"...
i love when the young ones are flying out of the nests, they gather in swarms and race around the roofs and chimneys - like "look how i can fly!!!"

well not really... last year we had a row of very young swallows sitting on our shed by the house... i took some photos, but don't ask me where i have them now...
many years ago i used to have a swifts nest right under the roof of the neighbour house... i could see the old ones flying in and out all day... i always feared they might crash to pieces, because they went in there at full speed... but i did miss the young ones leaving the nest...
