All it was seeing was my hand with seeds and the camera...
I got only one photo of nuthatches, I barely see them around here. But chickadees are far more numerous!

This bird is so friendly, he may come when we call him - his cry is easy to imitate.

It is not easy, calling them, seeing them come and go so quickly while holding the camera with one hand... I was happy to get this one, I miss so many shots of them!

Very sweet closeup. Yes, they are so friendly. My Canadian Aunty Marie used to feed them from her hand. I have an old faded photo of her doing that.

When I go in the woods, I call them until they come and they almost always do it.
The issue is to take a good photo of them, they are so fast and my camera must stay still.

I call them, Gypsy, it is every easy to imitate their cry.
