The flowerbeds are under at least 3 feet of snow.
During the Holidays, it has snowed all the time until a very cold temperature has invaded us for days and days.
It is less cold for now (around -5oC to -12oC). But I can't go outside, I am quite sick with an acute sinusitis and without meds.
You know, our winters, where we don't see the soil or any vegetation except snowy trees during almost 5 months are very though. Sun, about once a week, and when it is sunny, it is very cold. And the days are very short
So, very few light + cold + no vegetation = many depressed people from end of January to mid April.
Canada might be a beautiful country, its weather is not friendly. And we are not getting used to it, never.

Actually, our red squirrel is different from yours in Europa.
There were no grey squirrels in Europe before around 1850. The British soldiers or people living in North America have imported it to England.
Here we have many grey squirrels but they live in towns, not in countryside.
