It was kind of a last minute decision to make this a two-pager. I felt the first page did nothing to offer new information so I tacked on the next page (which kinda flows well with it anyway). AND it brings up lots of potential for fun debate over the weekend. There's just so much one could interpret and misinterpret here. XD
Oh, and of course, Chanel’s sexually is finally defined in canon (though it wouldn’t be impossible to figure it out sooner). If you did figure it out sooner, why don’t you just give yourself a pat on the back.

I never really got how it "sound[ed] like she's asexual". All she said was that she doesn't normally "like" boys and only "likes" Maria. I know I'm super late with this question, but how did Emily reach the conclusion she did?

Well, she said she is not a lesbian. A lesbian is a person who is sexually attracted to the same sex as her. Chanel told a few chapters ago that she wasn't a lesbian...yet she really likes Maria and wants to be her girlfriend. But she only likes Maria in a romantic sort of way.
Therefore, Emily easily could see that because Chanel is not a lesbian, she can be nothing other than homoromantic...and since she has never had sexual attraction to any person...not even boys....she's obviously asexual.
I actually figured it out when the boys said she never goes out with them.

Still, I don't see any reason she's necessarily talking about sexual attraction rather than romantic. Seems like a lucky guess on Emily's part.

Technically she is not. A lesbian is a person that is sexually attracted to women. She is not sexually attracted to anyone so she is technically not a lesbian. She is simply homo-romantic, preferring to have romantic experiences with women. But because she has no specific attraction to women, she is not a lesbian. I actually thought Chanel was asexual the moment I heard the students saying that she didn't want to date anyone. And she never expressed any kind of attraction physically to any person. Emily may have picked up that her vibe is asexual. Asexual react differently to things than sexual people do.

I think I'm starting to like Emily in spite of prickly personality. And her knowledge of gender variations makes it sound like she may fit well with the rest of the group. I'm curious about why she has this knowledge. Personal experience? I'll look forward to finding out.

This is that awkward part of the story where we think, "is she talking about Rudy/Ruby towards Rain because he's gay, or because she somehow knew Rain was a transgender this whole time?" Personally, i kinda hope it's the latter, solely so that Rain won't have to go through the coming-out sequence again.
On another note, i am pleasantly surprised at Emily's reaction to Chanel's answer. But if she's been around the gang for this long she probably is okay with more "alternative" lifestyles.

I have never really "connected" with many guys in my life due to personality and differences in our essences that lead to quick misunderstandings and communication difficulties.
Although if I do an RP and the other person thinks I am female, there is far less difficulty. I have yet to really understand why

I'm also surprised Emily knows so much. And she jumped to an answer pretty quickly. I definitely didn't know what Chanel's romantic orientation was. She likes Maria, but would she like other girls, given a chance? Would she like boys? Is Maria the only person she ever has been or ever expects to be interested in dating? In the last case, I wouldn't call her homoromantic, since that makes a statement about a whole gender.
I'm glad to see the people in the comments learning about asexuality.
Also, some really dangerous information is going to come out of this game soon. But I guess that's the point.
