It was kind of a last minute decision to make this a two-pager. I felt the first page did nothing to offer new information so I tacked on the next page (which kinda flows well with it anyway). AND it brings up lots of potential for fun debate over the weekend. There's just so much one could interpret and misinterpret here. XD

Oh, and of course, Chanel’s sexually is finally defined in canon (though it wouldn’t be impossible to figure it out sooner). If you did figure it out sooner, why don’t you just give yourself a pat on the back.

Though I'm not aromantic, it's definitely a thing, and a fairly good sized portion of asexuals also identify as aromantic (though I'm not sure I've ever met a sexual who identified as such . . ).

Very interesting! I'm not very intune with the Asexual community So anything I can learn is valuable.

I was mostly thinking of people who are Aromantic while having sexual desires of some variety. Seems a little sociopathic, but maybe that is just because its such a different mindset than my own. I'd really like to understand it.

I'm sure there are people like that, but though my romantic attraction eludes me (sometimes I hate all humanity and sometimes I'm a gushy mess ) I'm definitely not sexual aromantic so I can't claim to know much about it either! My guess is a quick glance around AVEN will uncover lots of aromantics, possibly some sexual ones, if you're interested in hearing more.

Jocelyn, I don't really get Rain's question do you mind explaining it a bit?

You mean, "Could someone be gay, but heteroromantic or vice versa?"

In other words, "Could someone be gay, but attracted to the opposite sex? Or straight, but attracted to the same sex?" And the answer is yes, there are people sexually attracted to one sex, but romantically attracted to the other. And romantic attraction is just what it sounds like: it's attraction to another person, but with greater emphasis and priority on romance over sex (likely without sex at all).

In summation, if a guy was homosexual and heteroromantic, it essentially means he's sexually attracted to other men. But he may also like girls enough to date one, so long as it's a strictly sexless relationship.

Did that make sense?

Does it have to be strictly sexless though, if he dates a girl?

Not necessarily, no. But it is probably more likely if he's heteroromantic.

I'm not surprised Rain didn't know this. It's not like it would've come up before. And nobody's ever used the actual terms.

Infinite possibilities, eh? Sounds like we can generalize(key word) to just 16: between straight, gay, bi, and asexual, and hetero-, homo-, bi- and aromantic. I think I fit as heteromantic asexual, though.

Homoromantic asexual. God, now we have to go back and add a whole new statistic to the cast sheet.

"considering your boyfriend"... since Rain and him got together I've had the theory that, as Rudy saw Rain's crotch when he first met her, he's subscounsciously (did I spell that right?) thinking of her as a "boy in drag", which is the initial source of his attraction to her... BUT then their relationship is most likely doomed, because her body-gender is going to start matching her mind-gender sooner or later.
As an alternative, I thought maybe he had some bi-tendencies (I mean, like a 5 on Kinsey Scale) but this possibility Emily mentioned is very interesting too. So, could he be a heteroromantic homosexual?
And lastly, Emily is truly very well informed xD I think she has just surprised everybody... twice!

Cheers!

Like ogres and onions, Emily has layers...

... Too bad catty alpha-b*tch is usually the outermost one.

I find it surprising that Emily knows that much about sexualities!

My thoughts exactly! Maybe she could be the Cordelia of the Rain Gang?

I'm going to guess that Emily is either a straight ally or the mysterious inter sexual character I think I've seen mention of before. We don't really know a lot about her, so it's also possible she plays Gavin's role but with a different group of LGBTQ students not yet mentioned in canon.
