Description Another "mock cover". I originally designed this character as an example of the "Most Common Super-Power" trope for female characters. I don't know how other people work, but when I'm drawing a new character, there's a story building in my head. In this case, it's a story of a girl who escapes from the world of her birth to come to Earth and be a hero. I conceived her as smallish, in stature, but stacked. And, from there, I started working her into my world. Obviously, she's my twist on Power Girl, just as Ad Astra's Galaxia is my Supergirl. So, it would be fitting if she was somehow related to my world's Superman, Apex. But, the whole blood-relative thing just seems too trite, for me. Plus, that's just too much of a rip-off, even for me.
But, what if she's inspired by Apex's example? Apex is a super-human from a world full of them. He's been around awhile, first coming to Earth in 1966 and emigrating in 1967. He's a refugee from a culture that lives off conquering parallel worlds and exploiting them to destruction. Rebels are few and far-between and the most famous of them all is Aurak Galt, Apex.
So it is, that a young princess of the realm, destined to be mother to kings and emperors, her head filled with romantic tales of adventure and intrigue, decided to break away from her guardians and travel to Earth. It took a few years for Diamante Rigella Areanna ZedonΒ  to surreptitiously amass the necessary information, but when she did, it was only a matter of choosing the moment to make her escape.
Her chance finally came in the days before her wedding to Mek Ruel far Gevrus Ildanon, Governor-general of Mars-Parallel Aleph-34-167. With all the traffic associated with the wedding, she found a rare opening in the protective cordon around the transportal terminal. Transferring all the necessary data to a data cylinder, she is about to make her break, when her husband-to-be appeared in the corridor before her. She tried to brush past him, but he was ...impatient... for his wedding night.
His ardor earned him a thermal blast to the face, and he learned that, for all her legendary pampered upbringing, she was far stronger than he thought. Fighting her way free, she fled the Governor-General's palace and across the Martian desert to the transportal terminal.

This cover is based on a scene from Omega the Unknown. I always liked the scene and it seemed perfect for Diamond's escape.
In this parallel of the Sol System, the moons of Mars have been cannibalized into an orbiting fusion power station in areosynchronous orbit over the capital city.

Diamond's stats are, roughly:
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 200# (denser muscle and bone tissue)
Hair: Black
Eyes: Maroon

Her powers are very similar to Apex's, though being a member of the aristocracy, she is stronger, has greater stamina and greater resistance to injury. She lacks Apex's speed, though she can easily reach hypersonic speeds. She can project thermal and force blasts, as well as being able to project an almost perfect camouflage field. The ability to evade enemies has often proved useful to mothers of princes in the transdimensional empire of Dagon.

Anyway, that's her story. I plan to do more with her, in the future.

And the robots?

The green monsters are cyborg hunters. I've always thought the Fury from Captain Britain was one of the scariest, creepiest critters in comics. These guys are sorta my take on those guys.

Joe, once again great work. Quick question, who are the two guys on the cover with her?

Well, the guy with the smoking face is her husband-to-be. The other guy is yet to be named, but he's sort of an imperial enforcer type. I will do a full shot of him, when I think of a name I like.

Thanks, it's been simmering away on the back burner for awhile, now. I kept going down the wrong path trying to come up with a cover based on Supergirl's first appearance. Then the runaway bride angle came to me and the Omega page just made everything click into place.
