Just a bit of fun I did for a portfolio I'm working on. I don't really have a name for her, just thought of her as Diamond Girl as I was working on it.Related content

Diamond Girl is a good name. Reminds me of the Hero Games/Champions Maxine/Black Diamond, just in terms of toughness and cute attitude. Diamond Girl really works for her.

When I did the first sketch of her, it just popped into my head, when I did that diamond-shaped cleavage window on her costume. She started out as an illustration of a particular trope, "The Most Common Super-Power", but quickly became one of my favorite characters to draw.
It's nice to see the movies embracing the cleavage window in super heroine costumes, at long last, they're even giving one to Psylocke.

I wasn't much of a fan of "orientalized" Psylocke back in the 90's - I had a huge crush on her British, pink sweatpants look as drawn by Alan Davis - but Olivia Munn in action has won me over. Then again, I am a big fan of Olivia from Attack of the Show.
As for Diamond Girl - the simplest things are best, and the diamond cutout is quite iconic.

Yeah, the body-swap never made much sense to me, especially as a permanent feature.

I still cheerfully maintain that Power Girl's traditional uniform is entirely functional.

Heh. I think they changed her costume because of trademark issues. The old Wally Wood design is just too generic, though I still prefer it. The breast reduction they gave her is because DC is run by eunuchs.

Damn, that looks dark, when I look at it, now. I gotta adjust my monitor! Yeah, I kinda went with Power Girl colors, just for fun, but if I did anything with her, I'd give her an original color scheme.

It's just something that annoys me about my flatscreen monitor. I never had this problem with my ancient CRT. Had a lot more options for adjustment.Just one more thing to figure a way to work around.

The phrase comes from TVTropes.com, referring to female characters' most consistent physical trait. In This girl's case, like Power Girl, taken to the extreme. Of course, the new version of Power Girl has had a major reduction, so now she's not that different from Supergirl.
