The program is called SolidWorks, and it's more like AutoDesk Inventor than AutoCAD. I believe that the main difference between 3ds Studio Max and SolidWorks is that SolidWorks is an engineering program used to make exact designs, while 3ds Studio Max just makes things that look good. Of course, I've never used 3ds...
