I really appreciate this picture because in truth Spartans decorated their shields with an emblem. 300 messes that image up for the public, along with their helmets.

Can you please tell me if the Spartans are Greek or Roman. I heard a Spartan is a Spartan not a Greek. Or they are Greeks in culture as well but the area is Spartan. Or say the costume is really Roman.
What is that kilt called? If it's a kilt. Chiton, fandella. Really, I'd like to know.
Not to mention the other objects on him. Nice job.

So they were Greek? It's hard to find google translate for all of the text.

Почему игрушки? Нет цивилизации, историческая Спарта региона, страны, на Пелопоннесе.

Now, boys and girls, you see one of these people coming at you, it's best to get out of his way.
And to those few of whom he's coming after...run.

It's very historically accurate, which I most definately appreciate sir. And very well done. Just one question: Where's the rest of his mates? lol As good as Spartans were trianed in the ways of warfare, they relied on their mates to kick royal ass.

A history magazine? Well isn't that swanky.
Very good job, though! What with all the "300" hype as of late, you'd think it would be inspired by that. At least somewhat.

In fact the shield is Spartan. They did not have only one pattern on the shields. The most well-known is Λ, that the simple soldiers used to bear. Since his is some kind of οfficer he bears the symbol of his clan.

Actually, that shield -is- Spartan... they didn't start using the famous lamvtha on their shields until long, long after the Battle of Thermopylae and the Persian wars. The leopard on this image is a symbol of the Pylos morae.
