Description
Today's quick DAZ Studio and Iray experiment is with Sickleyield Fast Fog Iray. This time I was playing with using the fog material on figures.Related content

Interesting way to create ghosts, I'll have to take a look at it. Looks very convincing.

Thank you,
I normally prefer pwEffect for ghosts, but it only works in 3Delight

I know, Iray still needs to make a proper shader for ghosties. But this looks very good already.

Damn, that's cool! I wish I'd tried that, I was trying to do a ghost render in Iray and couldn't get it to look right. And oddly enough, G3 doesn't seem to like the old pwGhost and pwEffect shaders.

Thank you,
I was thinking pwEffect should have been the way to go, but I wanted to try a ghost effect in Iray and have never got pwEffect to work in Iray. I wish there was an edge falloff shader for iRay

Now that would be cool... Any idea why an old shader would freak out on a new figure? I was using 3Delight, and all I could get was either nothing, or a charcoal-grey kind of color, which was not at all what I wanted my ghost to look like. But I've barely touched the G3s at all, up until about a month ago, so maybe there's something about 'em I just don't know.

Not sure why PWeffect isn't working for you on G3 figures. I just tried a quick test and PWeffect worked on a G3 female (I don't have G3 male).

Great work joe, have you post-worked those skellies in? Or just some crafty shading?

Thanks,
the only post work was levels in Photoshop. The skeletons just use the fast fog Iray light smoke texture. The hair uses the medium texture and the dress uses the light texture. Then I used two fog planes and a ground fog plane.

Thanks you for the encouragement
this image started out as just a witch, then I got the idea of using the fog as textures on the characters. I may have went overboard

There's no such thing as overboard on DA my friend. You let those ideas fly!
