You have showed me the step by step way to draw an automatic zombie killer!
You are awesome! Me love your art work long time!

1911 referres to when the army adopted the gun, not its patent date.
another neat fact, the tang that sets into the crotch of the hand is actually the safety mechanism, that prevents
the gun from being discharged when it is not being held

Agreed. My absolute favorite side arm/hand gun of all time. The classic at it's best. Also, damn easy to find ammo for so, in a pinch, the Perfect gun to have in a zombie apocalypse! Nice break down of the shape!

Good gun but I wouldn't use it in a zombie apocalypse. reason being, bullets runs out too fast for a clip, it jams fairly easily.( depending on how much you take care of it )
I prefer the Beretta 21 bobcat. I own one and almost have no recoil. Its also light wait and very easy to clean. So if your running away from a herd of zombie and you begin to lose your stamina, you'll be glad that you carry something that isn't heavy.

i beg to differ, the 1911, no matter which brand or year, is one of the most reliable pistols in the world, and every gun shop carries .45cal. the 1911 depicted here is a compact version (as stated) but a full size would tend to carry an 11+1 clip. I havn't heard of the bobcat but ill look it up to see if its worth the praise!

Wow, this is really brilliant, man. You've got pretty much every aspect of the gun down.
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer revolvers. When I'm old enough, I'm looking at somehow managing to buy a Ruger Super Redhawk, the long barrel make.

Should the end on the barrel realy flair out that far? Also shouldn't it tilt sliggtly upwards on a browing pistol with the action fully back?

1911 has an older action with a barrel link that mates with the slide stop. This action requires a ramp on the frame as well as the barrel and they meet up. In a 1911 model pistol the barrel stays stationary in relation to the frame. It is one reason why they are so inherently accurate. It's also why the cheaper ones don't feed hollow points nicely (the edge of the bullet can get snagged between the barrel throat and frame ramp because they aren't milled to high tolerances and then hand fit)
Browning developed the tilting mechanism that you spoke of for his next pistol the Hi-Power, and is present in most modern auto pistols as the mechanism doesn't have that seam, and is more conducive to mass production. However, the barrel slop between cycles causes the barrel to never seat exactly the same way twice which opens up the group quite a bit.

IMO... the 1911 still has no equal
I'll take my full size kimber packing 8 rounds per mag any day. Really not that much bigger than the officer's, but longer barrel for higher energy and longer sight radius. I find they are easier to control too.
Great drawing BTW, especially the conical shape at the end of a non-bushing style barrel.

I may not be able to handle the recoil of a .45 since I have never fired one! I'll just stick to .40 or 9mm, but I question their effectiveness against the undead XD

I find the recoil of a .45 is actually more controllable than a .40. It is more of a "roll" than a "snap" like the .40. More recoil over a longer period of time if that makes sense.

It usually carries a 7 round magazine and you can load another one in the chamber. Some also come with 8 round magazines.

still enjoy the s&m model 500 but, you can't be picky in a situation.

The S&W M500 is tad on the overkill side but your correct, any gun'll do when you have Zombies shambling towards you.

Not really, If its a hoard you have mulitiple targets in a close area you have the chance of killing multiple targets at once. I.E multi-headshots
