A friend of mine asked me to come up with a koi-type design for a tattoo... Of course, I went overboard because I'm no good at tatt designs... So that's why I put the simplified version in too.Related content

I love the style and color, seems to me like you're very good at tatt designs. I recently decided to get a tattoo, so could i have your permission to possibly use this is a design since it's so well done?

Omg I love them. I wanted to get a tattoo with Koi fish but I couldn't draw one. Would you mind if I kind of borrowed the bottom design for part of my tattoo? I'd credit you when I put the picture up.

hey genius, this is one of my favorites in your older stuff.
I really like the differences in line behavior - thickness, angles, contrast and all that.
can you drop a line my way and help a "wish I could do that" person like me getting a head start in vector painting? what do you use? how the hell do you get this character in your lines?

I use Adobe Illustrator and the pen tool. I sketched this out in pencil first and scanned it in and just went over it again with the pen tool and kept the linework as tight as possible. There's no real trick to how I did it... Just followed my sketch I guess!

Thanx so much for doing this design. Finally a feminine or neutral koi design. This is exactly the shape I was looking for. I don't want some uber masculine koi monster-thing for my first tattoo on my shoulder blade. thanx so much for doing both designs too. PS: I'm Fav'ing this and I won't use this without permission.
