Wow. This photo is so striking. I think the first thing that my eye fell on when I looked at this was the translucency of the spider's legs and body. It gives it an ethereal feel. In fact, the sunlight is so bright that the web is turned into what look like sun-rays, making it seem as if the spider is floating in place.
I like the almost overexposed top part of the photo and the way that it falls to a darker background and bokeh at the bottom. It's a great contrast between light and dark, coincidentally focusing on a creepy-crawly subject that many associate with dark subject matter.
The composition is just beautiful, the subject is interesting, and there's a lot of emotion and interpretive, thoughtful elements in this photograph. It really proves how skilled you are to have that tension between light and dark evident with bokeh that didn't take over the photo, but rather lended itself to a brilliant composition.
