Description
This time I gave AJ real freckles instead of the 3 white/yellowish dots?You can tell I do enjoy drawing both of them as humans.
You can make up your own story on what happened.
Note: I never realize Big Mac has freckles. I been drawing him without freckles the whole time. LOL!

Bittersweet memories or some recent sadness, either way the picture is very cute, and as for legs I saw someone mention earlier I think they're fine as is. Big mac is a country boy and doing farm work gets you plenty ripped.

AJ would never be found crying, carried home by her big brother, she's a big, tough girl. As awesome a piece of artwork as this is I can't help but feel it's rather out of character for her. Nonetheless this makes me feel like Big Mac should get an episode focused around him in Season Two.

Even the toughest girls can break if something bad enough happened. Perhaps Applejack in her stubborness let her self get into a situation that caused a pony to get hurt, as well as herself. Which would explain both why is is crying as well as why she is being carried. I don't see it out of character at all as given enough, even the tough can break down crying.

It just seems like an odd choice to draw AJ crying. I'm not saying it'd never happen I'm just saying it seems a bit odd to see.

I can see that, part of what makes her so likable by fans is that she is a strong pony. It would seem odd to see her cry. Yet, for me at least, seeing her cry makes this all the more touching of a scene. To now that something that bad must have happened, something that could cause AJ to break down crying.

Yeah you're probably right. I guess if somebody were to draw Pinkie Pie depressed before "Party Of One" aired everybody would've called them crazy so you're right. When a character does something decidedly unexpected it really does make a memorable scene.

For me, as a big brother to two little sisters, all that matters is that something hurt AJ, and big brother Mac is going to take care of her, because that's what real big brothers do. I may not always get along with my little sisters, but I'll be damned the day I don't help them in their time of need. I put myself in Big Mac's boots, and see AJ crying, and it just tears at my heart. You did very well on this one, johnjoseco

From her tears and expression, it doesn't look like she's in physical pain, but emotional pain.

My take is that Applejack mistook a comment Big Macintosh made and felt that he said she wasn't as tough as he was. She stomped off to the fields to be alone, and started heading back at around sundown when she tripped and twisted her ankle. To prove herself, she tried to make it home anyway, but walking on her hurt ankle only made it worse, resulting in Applejack collapsing in the forest. Determined, she started crawling her way back as night fell. Worried, Big Macintosh headed into the fields to look for her and found her and tried to help. Applejack refused, still wanting to prove she was as tough as Macintosh. Macintosh explained to Applejack that it didn't matter if she was tough as him, because he knew that she could handle anything that was thrown at her. Feeling foolish, Applejack finally agreed to let Macintosh help her. On the way home, Applejack cried over how she had acted.
That's the best I could come up with.

Applejack has a broken heart. She became so depressed that she couldn't find the motivation to walk home so Big Mac being the bigger bro carries her home. That is what i see.
