Description
There are two sets of drawings that I've done related to the redesigns. The first set are based off of the official promotional images used for the characters, while the other is based off of this awe-inspiring piece of art done by Olivia Ceballos (half of the twin sister team EliOli Ceballos who redesigned the characters and grew up watching the series) that was originally meant to be her screensaver but was then used by Big Idea to help promote VeggieTales in the House at the VeggieTales Media Day event held in Nashville, TN on August 5, 2014.

The reason why I decided to do a series of drawings like this was that I was inspired with how much Olivia's drawing (along with many of the drawings done by EliOli) reminded me of some of the concept art done by the old Disney guys like Rolly Crump and Mary Blair .

These drawings also have a bit of my unique touch to it as unlike the image that their based off of, the characters here have their classic non-colored pupils which makes them ultimately look like more of a cross of the original and newer designs. If most of the redesigned characters had turned out more like the way they are in that picture, I (and I'm sure many other longtime fans) would've been far more accepting of the change as opposed to how they actually look which varies quite a bit.
