Description
Armed with a fully-charged phone and airpods, and a Jilberry Bar to keep her going until lunchtime, Nadia begins her second day waiting for Lee Tegwald, the boy she wants to invite to her birthday party.

Yesterday dragged and it ended in disappointment so she is not looking forward to the same thing happening today. She thought about asking Leigh-Anne to come over and keep her company, and that would definitely make the time pass much more quickly, but it does not feel right to have Leigh-Anne there for the important task Nadia needs to do; this is something she believes has to be done with no one else present, especially not her BFF giggling in the background and putting her off.

So, early Sunday morning sees Nadia going out to the bench under her living room window and preparing for what might turn out to be another long and lonely wait.

Why are boys such hard work? she wonders to herself as she sits down and selects some music to play on her phone. And... like... are they even worth it?
