Description
Becca Edwards takes her empty coffee cup back to the service counter and buys another. She returns to the table she had been sitting at to see both Jake, her son, and Týra, the girl whom Jake befriended at school , waiting for her.

"Hey, kids! Everything alright?" she asks. They do not appear injured or distressed so she expects it is not an emergency that has brought them up to the Mezzanine Café and away from the attractions of the water-park.

"Everything's fine, Mum!" Jake says. "We thought we'd come and say 'Hi'."

"The truth is, Mrs Edwards," Týra adds, "we've gone down so many slides we're totally exhausted!"

"So you've been having a good time, then?" Becca asks.

Both children nod enthusiastically and this confirmation is reflected on their faces.

"That's good. I'm glad," Becca says. "But I do have to say something about your brother, Týra. He promised he would be keeping a close watch on you, making sure you both stay safe, but from what I've seen he's been too busy closely watching something else. See?" She releases one hand from the cup and saucer she is carrying and points out over the water-park. Jake and Týra follow her finger and see that she is pointing towards the small 'glade' in which the hot-tubs are located, and more specifically at the one containing Sven (Týra's older brother) and a bikini-clad blonde-haired girl of about his own age.

Týra looks embarrassed and bows her head with guilt. "I'm sorry, Mrs Edwards. Yes, he should have been watching us carefully but it looks like he is flirting with girls. We saw him earlier when we were up at the top of the big slide. He had lots of girls around him then but only one now. But still... I apologize for this, Mrs Edwards, and I will talk to him later, okay?"

Becca laughs kindly and sits down. "Well, make sure you do but don't be too harsh on him. I was young once and I can't really fault him with all those distractions around." She takes a sip of coffee before proceeding: "I could see most of the places you went to from up here, so it wasn't like there was no one looking out for you. Mention it to him but don't worry, I understand. He's a good looking lad and I'd be surprised if he hadn't attracted a group of girls, to be honest."

Judging by the body language, Becca can see that Týra is still feeling rather awkward. "Okay, Mrs Edwards. I am sorry."

"Now, then," Becca changes the subject, "when do you kids think you'll be wanting to go home? I'm not rushing you---I've still got my book here which I'm enjoying so I can sit up here a little longer---but are we near to home time or is that still a distant thing?"

Týra looks at Jake and they share some unspoken communication. Jake is the first to look to his mother. "We're going back in the Jacuzzi to get our breath back and then we're going on some more slides all over again!" He turns to Týra for confirmation. "Right?"

"Definitely!" Týra agrees and grabs Jake's hand to pull him towards the stairs leading back to ground level. "Come on, Jakey!" she cries and, just before the two children disappear down the steps, Becca hears "Seeya in a bit, Mum!" and "Thanks, Mrs Edwards!" reaching her.
