[Previous entry in the No Uniform Friday storyline .]

Madeleine and Gemma enter their form room and take a quick glance around: It appears they are the first students to arrive. Even Nasira is not here fussing over Mrs Wharton's books yet.

Maddie turns to Praanvi, who is following close behind. "We're the first here, Praanvi. I guess whatever we do will set the tone for what everyone else does when they come in wondering if there's a plan or something."

"Ooh, we can be the trendsetters for our form!" Praanvi laughs. "I have never been such a thing before!" She walks over to her usual seat and stands with her hands on the back of her chair, watching Maddie and Gemma, completely unaware of the irony in her statement as she waits to see what her classmates do.

The other two girls go to their usual desk and Gemma zips open a compartment on her backpack. She turns to Maddie: "Perfect chance for a selfie for Graeme right here and now. No teachers around to see me using a phone so... why not, eh?"

Maddie gives a thumbs-up sign and smiles at her friend. "Go for it, Gems! See if you can get the clock in the background to show you're here just before Reg starts."

"Brilliant idea," Gemma agrees and takes her phone from the backpack. She walks to the front of the classroom, over to Mrs Wharton's desk, and glances up at the clock to get an idea where exactly it is in relation to where she is standing.

"What are you doing?" Praanvi asks. Her desk is immediately in front of Mrs Wharton's and she cannot avoid being intrigued by what Gemma is doing.

"Taking a selfie for my brother," Gemma explains. "As proof. Y'see, I've got this bet with him about wearing my bikini all day at school. He says I won't, I'll be a silly little girl and wimp out at some point. There's a hundred pounds in it for me if I prove I stay dressed like this the whole time. He wants pics of me in various places around St Tibb's with a few other girls in the pictures to prove I'm not just sneaking around all secretive and I actually do it prop'ly. I was gonna include Maddie in this one but... well... she's been in a few already so how about I take one with you?"

Praanvi frowns. "Uh... you will not let him have those pictures, no? I mean the files for him to keep?" she asks with obvious wariness. "If they get loaded onto the internet? Oh! There is no telling how many perverted men will begin lustful drooling over them! Oh my God! I am imagining the comments!" She shudders with distaste at the remarks she can imagine being submitted under the pictures.

Gemma laughs and shakes her head. "No friggin' chance, mate! These pictures are staying right here on this phone and getting deleted the instant Graeme admits I've won and he hands over the cash."

"Well... ah... okay..." Praanvi says after she has thought about it for a second or two. "Mind you note this, I am only doing this for you because I thought I was the brave one riding into school on my bike like this, but you... you came all the way wearing over yourself even less clothing!" She grabs hold of the hem of her t-shirt and lifts it up and over her head, revealing the tiger-stripe bikini underneath. "Let's do this!" she announces as she drapes the t-shirt over her chair and steps around to stand beside Gemma.

Gemma stares wide-eyed at Praanvi's string bikini. "Whoa... ! That looks awesome on you! I love it!"

"Thank you," Praanvi says rather coyly but quickly recovers and leans in close behind Gemma to get in frame. "Make sure to get my good side, you hear me?"

"Smile!" Gemma says, ensuring that she, Praanvi, and the clock behind them will all be captured in the shot.

Maddie looks on and, while Gemma is fussing over her camera angles and takes the picture, hears footsteps approaching out in the corridor accompanied by two voices she recognizes. She turns and sees Penelope and Emily-Jane entering the room, sporting the now familiar tee-shirt-and-bare-legs look.

"I'm starting to feel a little over-dressed here, guys!" she says to the two new arrivals as she quickly realizes that, out of the five members of 8W in the room, she is the only one not wearing a bikini. But she is pleased to see that all her hard work of the past week appears to be paying off.
