Description
With Charlotte now gone from the hot-tub, Penelope is left alone with Sven.

She shuffles even closer, testing his response to her proximity; his attention has not been on anyone else since the girls got into the hot-tub but Penelope is still careful to judge every move she makes towards him. This is not one to scare away, she tells herself.

Seeing nothing to slow down or stop her advance, she stretches a foot forward, placing it in between Sven's own widely-spaced feet and she pushes herself up from the hot-tub. She stands in front of Sven, between his feet, and bends over. Sven, meanwhile, watches with the smile that has been on his face the whole time she has been here now growing bigger as Penelope makes such a bold move.

She leans over so that she is now looking directly into Sven's eyes. She reaches forward with her right hand and gently touches his jaw. She judges his reaction to this, their first deliberate physical contact, and seeing no signs that she has crossed a boundary, reaches forward with her other hand and places it on Sven's shoulder to support herself. (Oh, those muscles! floods her internal monologue as she lays a hand on his shoulder.)

"You..." she says softly, tenderly, a playful but meaningful smile on her lips. "... need to be mine," she finishes. She stays silent and watches the reaction on Sven's face. It is all that she hoped for and she finds delight in seeing such a magnificent example of masculinity respond to her words, her actions, and---no doubt---her feminine attributes.

Sven is at first a little startled, almost not believing that what he thinks she said was what she actually said. But within a fraction of a second---her words and current behaviour rapidly assessed as sincere---his face changes from mild surprise to pleasure followed swiftly by joy. His lips spread across his face in a large smile and his eyes twinkle in the sunlight filtering through the leaves of the surrounding foliage. "Are you... uh... are you requesting we should be boyfriend and girlfriend, Penelope?" Sven asks. He knows the answer but he wants to be 100% certain.

Penelope laughs gently at Sven's apparent disbelief. "Oh, I am, I surely am suggesting that exact thing!" she says with a supporting nod.

She stops her nodding abruptly as her gaze is caught in Sven's, and the two young people look deeply into each other's eyes. No words are said and no movement is made for a period of intense silence as they each imagine they are now staring directly into the other's soul.

Penelope is the first to break the enchantment. She pulls back, out of the intimate closeness that could easily have tipped into becoming a kiss. "Let's make a date, just the two of us, and we'll go somewhere nice. I'm here with my friends and... well... even though they're not here right now, they're still going to come back and get in the way. Two's company, three's a crowd, and four... well, four is far too many. Agreed?"

She returns to the shelf she was sitting on, withdrawing from her stance in between Sven's legs, and waits eagerly for his response.
