I actually hated this page...still do, honestly. But it got enough good response that I decided to post it. I feel like the balance is crap, though.

I think one of the reasons you don't like the lighting is because the only light you can see is coming from behind, rather than the light that is actually casting the shadows that is out of "camera" on the ceiling to the top right. Also, it's the same colour as the window light so it seems to you to be the wrong shadows, even though it needs this lighting or it would probably be too shadowed like a photo shot toward the sun.

I have stories about doing some of the worst art ever, just being depressed it was in print, and getting the most positive feedback from it like it was the best thing I've ever done or something. I still don't understand it.
