what did you use for the green acid/atomic compartment?

That was already part of the blaster, I just frosted the plastic to make the green LED inside more ethereal looking. Β sorry I don't recall where I got it, but I'm sure its a chinese-made blaster that you can find online with a bit of searching. Β Good luck!Β

Nice work. I like the scope/laser pointer that you placed on there. Because of that, not only does it look neat, but it also looks very usable, as you can actually aim with it. (Not many sci-fi handguns or rifles seem to include a scope, targeting sights, or pointer like that, which, in my opinion, kinda ruins how useful they could've otherwise looked as a result.)

I wish that was my work, but the scope amazingly enough came on the gun like that. I do agree with you, the scopes are sorely lacking on a lot of guns that could otherwise look very cool with them

When you have an atomic-powered gun you don't worry if people can see you. They're be a pile of glowing dust soon enough

I was wondering how you painted it, mainly what kind of paint and sealer you used. I've tried using spray paints and well it seems they didn't seal/stay that well, and seem to have a paint smell to them constantly.

The smell is due to not drying properly I think, but you can be very successful with spray cans if you're careful. I prep my guns by sanding down all the shiny plastic so the paint has a surface to grab hold of. No paintjob can withstand constant handling or abuse, but most of the guns I make are used for conventions or displaying and the ones used as actual movie props are not expected to stay nice and that's why most legit groups order multiples of the same gun. If one gets messed up, they toss it and grab another!

Ah, unfortunately for my latest nerf gun project I wont have any space to use spray cans so it is going to have to be all by hand. It was why I was hoping you did it by had, but thanks for the information anyways.
I'm planning on revisiting a previous Halloween Costume/get up that I did (very poorly in my mind) a few years ago in a small residence which was the Punisher. I have a spare Vulcan laying around, so I was planning on repainting it to make it look more menacing for Halloween this year (with the punisher costume).
I wish I could find another longshot or nerf releases one similar again as I enjoyed originally how that one came out, just the additional touch ups and mods kinda ruined it (in my mind)

That would be really cool with the punisher outfit. I'm working on a military-ish vucan for a guy who wants it with his HALO armor. It's look good so far and now I'm just doing the detail work on it. That should be up soon

Thanks man! I still have to get a better shot in natural light, but it really sparkles on the highlights and that really made me like it as well. Still gonna sell it, of course...hehe, but I don't make em to keep em and I'd get more of a kick knowing someone's enjoying and showing to every person they know
