This is over a year old and I was working with the colors I had on hand. I think I would just call this "Space Marine" style these days, but I'd have done a lot more to it if it was a more recent piece..of course it would have cost quite a bit more because of the extra time.

Hmmm.... i disagree about the halo part, unless you color it blue, purple or yello and make it covenant.

still looks wicked fun to use tho.

Thanks! It may darken some by the time I'm done, but I did this in one sitting so it was more of a test run

It is, part of the TAG series with velcro darts. It's the Sharp shot, similar in size to the Nite Finder or Element. I pretty cool design, says I!

and thank you!

Nice ...

Had a chance today to take an up close look at the various Nerf guns in a "big box" brick-and-mortar store that begins with "Wal" and ends with "Mart" (over in their toy section). I just gotta tell you that you do an incredible job on transforming said off-the-shelf neon coloured Nerf guns into the pieces of artwork that you morph them into.

I was amazed at how light the Nerf guns felt in my hand and would almost expect yours to have a bit of "heft" to them based upon the metal / brass / woodlike appearance that you craft them to mimic so well. Do you or have you ever considered adding metal weights or something heavy to the insides of the various guns that you modify?

I got to thinking about those old lead ankle weights used for exercising (you'd wrap them around your ankle's and then use the velcro straps to secure them) and how they could be possibly torn open and portioned out in smaller packets (maybe double bagged zip-loc baggies?) to fit within the nooks and crannies of the internal spaces of the Nerf guns (it wouldn't cause rattling inside as it is powdered lead). Then again, playing around with lead is quite hazardous, but there has to be another material that would substitute nicely (iron filings?).

Just an idea on my part. I think that it would really add that "oomph" element to the whole concept ... you go and pick one of your guns up and *holy [bleep]* it has some heaviness to it.

Take care,

Thats a great idea about granulated material and I've done it with chunks of rebar hotglued in the handle & body. Thank you for the compliment, I'm very humbled to do anything that people find interesting

Very cool.

Great idea on the rebar hotglued into the insides of the Nerf guns ... better than my idea with the powdered lead.

Why would they ban this particular gun? That's nutty!

they haven't banned it, Hasbro has just decided not to ship any to Australia, along with the rest of the new dart tag range.
