Description Here's a virtually finished BR-85 paintjob on a hollow resin cast.  It was a beast to mask and paint, but I think the effort is paying off.  As soon as I can get some sunshine, I'll take better photos and replace this photo, haha.

I eventually would like to put together a whole, hopefully somewhat convincing suit of MJOLNIR. I'd like to know whats involved for fitting and costs if thats possible...Mostly how much it would set me back. Then I need to make that much. haha

Holy nutter butter biscuts on a turd-burgalur sandwich, that is some dedicatedly fancy shizzle upon the forrizle Mr. McDizzle.

You hit that nail right on the pointy part, which is way harder and much more self-sacrificial than hitting it on the head.

Awesome !

But I don't really like the orange stripes, normally, they are yellow. :/

(sorry for maybe bad English, I'm Belgian)

Any chance for a DMR ?

Alwaysa chance, but they're expensive to just make, so I'd need to get a commission to do one

Well unfortunately I don't have that kind of money and I made a very decent one myself, I'D appreciate feedback from pros like you if you have the time. I like better custom paint jobs myself but that is just my personal preference.

Actually, never mind. It says it was a resin cast... I need to read a little more closely. Sorry.

Wow, this looks stunning. What was the base prop for this? Was this a nerf gun, or something else?

what type of paint do you use? to get the older looks. its not just spray paint. i can tell that much

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohnsonArmsProps In reply to IronSpark98 [2014-01-05 05:31:19 +0000 UTC]

I use washes to give the look of aging.  The real trick is to not use too much or it just looks like you smeared it with dirt (or in this case paint, haha)

Looking great, John! I really love the orange you used. How long did the entire piece take?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohnsonArmsProps In reply to Ideal-Separation [2014-01-05 05:34:02 +0000 UTC]

It's actually Brian, but I appreciate your comment just as much no matter what, haha!  For all the prep it was about 4 hours and for the paint I'd say that took another 4-5 due to all the masking I do as well as the weathering, etc..  It really helps, but man do I go through a lot of 3M painters tape!
