Description I hope this is helpful.

It's hard to write a tutorial like this since some of my knowledge is purely observation based. By making this tutorial, I think i actually learn more about hands and how to avoid some of my own lazy habits/mistakes

...that said, in no way am I perfect with drawing hands, and there's a chance I've made some mistakes. So while you may learn some techniques from this tutorial, always look to real life for accuracy and correction

Also in NO WAY is this tutorial a complete or exhausted study of hands. If I was prepping for a class or book it would be a different story, but It's not reasonable for me to spend that kind of time on a net tutorial

As some of you have pointed out: Not ALL hands will conform to generic proportions. Real hands, just like bodies, won't always have the same proportions, have variations, and quirks. I in fact have crooked fingers but all the variations are kinda beyond the scope of this tutorial, but do know they are out there!

The Golden Ratio is based off the Fibonacci numbers. It's an fascinating thing, found through-out nature living and non-living. It's also linked to aesthetics (proof that math is beautiful).

All the hands above belong to me and many are from my own art pieces. So please do Not use them as Stock, as this is just for educational purposes.

This tutorial took a LOT of time. So please be respectful and let me know if you want to use it for something Chances are I'm totally cool with it! If there is something I didn't cover and you really want to know more about it... you can inquire about it.

For me, as (I assume) for many others, hands are some of the hardest things to draw. Thanks for making this - I'll probably be making heavy use of it in the near future.

You might have noticed that I faved several tutorials. I use my fav section as a convenient place to keep my references, such as tutorials I want to use for future drawings. I found this through the group I'm in: Christian Otaku. I just thought I'd mention all of this, because I thought you might be curious what I liked about your work.

Great tutorial! I actually also use the "breaking into easier shapes" approach for my own drawings, but it sometimes doesn't turn out so good as expected - hopefully from this I will learn a thing or two, faved!

. . . Golden ratio? even more proof that my art teacher was horrible. He didn't teach ANYTHING. All he did was give us a worksheet, trace it, BOOM AUTOMATIC A. I hated him ._. I helped him out with some Photoshop stuff (just text, nothing big) AND HE TOLD ME HE WOULD GIVE ME AN AUTOMATIC A FOR MY FINAL EXAM ;A; I didn't deserve it....Let me tell you, this beautiful piece of tutorial beats the entire school year I wasted in his class.

Very thorough and comprehensive. I really like this because it kinda extends and explains some of the little toold I've been using lately. And YES to the Golden Ratio 'cause it is just about one of the best things math ever showed us ^^
