Thank you for the praise. I loved those shows, especially the ones with Bill Owen in them. What an expressive face he had! Such silly nonsense, but what lovable characters all of them were. Like all good things, they couldn't go on forever, but they certainly entertained us while they lasted.

Yep the LATSW was great it was sad to see it decline in the recent years and how the BBC let it go was disgraeful. I say often and where have the great british comedey shows and the talent all gone, Hancock, Steptoe, Carry On's, Dad's Army, Open All Hours, Porridege, Allo, Allo, Sykes, Benny Hill, Frankie Howerd and many more and radio shows too like The Navy Lark & Round The Horne.
Sadly there is very little to compare with the old shows nowdays.
PS Rant Over lol and Im 24 and they were all before my time but how they have all made me chuckle.

I remember Benny Hill. We don't get many of the British comedies over here in the US....at least we don't in our city. Wish we did. Love your sense of humor! The shows that do air here, are often repeated over and over, till one can quote the next line before it is spoken. I remember Norman Wisdom from the 1956 movie, UP IN THE WORLD. Funny. Also several of the St. Trinians films. Humor has changed here too. Gone are those I LOVE LUCY days, Red Skelton; Sid Caesar; ALL IN THE FAMILY shows, etc.

Cool I loved Benny Hill I loved his mime sketches he was wonderful at those. It is very sad I feel the abuse and bad press he now gets about the scantily clad females he had in is show, he was a classic innocent childish clown and besides he never got the girl and besides we have way worse on the TV now.
Yes I like some of the Norman Wisdom Films, he appeared in some episode of Last of The Summer Wine which were very funny doing his trademark funny walks etc . Sadly we rarely see any of our old shows/films much either a lot of them are on the Satellite channels rather than mainstream TV.
Cool I like M*A*S*H that is always good sometimes childishly funny and sometimes vey moving too in the same episode and also I love Laurel & Hardy they were both brilliant

Yes my friend, thanks for reminding me about Mash. That was one of my husband's all time favorite shows. Laurel and Hardy were funny too, as was Charlie Chaplin as The Tramp. I loved his 1940 film, The Great Dictator. So did our grandson, who was only six years old when he saw it. Of course Shawn did not understand Chaplin's message in the movie, his defiance of Nazism, but Shawn certainly liked Chaplin's actions.

Hi, my dear Schatzi!
You can see how active I am on this site. Your comment came in on Sept. 10th, and I am just now answering it. Sorry about that.
I hope that pizza was as good as you'd imagined it would be. What toppings do you fancy, other than tomatoes and cheese on a pizza?
Adios, mi amiga,
Joje

CHEESE? Now you're talking about one of my favorite foods. I love tomatoes too, only they have to be vine grown, not hot house ones. I go through a 2 lb (32 oz or 97 g) box of sweet Cherubs (we used to call them "poppers) almost every week. I also use the Roma tomatoes. Occasionally I will buy a large, round tomato to slice and put on sandwiches.
