It's here. It's back. And shinier than ever!!

Writing Regulus Harbor finally gave me the ooportunity to use these elemental symbols I've been thinking about for years. I've refined them once again, and also simplified the magic system. Now there's 10 magic elements, plus Light and Darkness.

All of the Reached have one of these symbols on a specific part of their body, representing their power over a specific element. They also glow in their respective colors when used. All the Reached are humans -bipedal creatures that by definition should be incapable of storing magical powers inside- and yet, their power can actually surpass that of ysoki, goblin wizards or maybe even dragons, if they're trained correctly.

Though La ciudad estrellada does not feature all of the elements, they do show up in El espejo maldito.

Color: Red-orange
Represents: A flame.
Associated to: Right hand
Belongs to Raavi.

Water
Color: Azure
Represents: A fountain.
Associated to: Belly
Currently belongs to Panuk. Previously owned by Sol.

Life
Color: Green
Represents: A tree.
Associated to: Lower back
Currently belongs to Itsuki. Previously owned by Itsuki's biological father, Jon.

Earth
Color: Orange
Represents: Mountains, or dunes.
Associated to: Right side of the chest
Belongs to Briana.

Air
Color: Violet
Represents: A gust of wind.
Associated to: Upper back (lungs and wings)
Belongs to Elijah. Lydia met him in 1994, but he declined to join her. He changed his mind in 2008.

Sound
Color: Lime
Represents: A sound wave.
Associated to: Throat
Belongs to Greta.

Thunder
Color: Yellow
Represents: A thunderbolt.
Associated to: Nape (beginning of spinal cord)
Belongs to Rosa.

Metal
Color: Light red
Represents: A sword on a forge.
Associated to: Left side of the chest (heart)
Belongs to Danny.

Ice
Color: Turquoise
Represents: A snowflake.
Associated to: Left hand
Currently belongs to Lin. Previously owned by Yul.

Mind
Color: Indigo
Represents: An eye.
Associated to: Forehead
The twins, Alexei and Ingrid, used to share it. Now, since the end of La ciudad estrellada, it belongs to Ingrid entirely.

Light
Color: White, any spectral color
Represents: A star.
Associated to: Top of the head
Used by Lydia to purify people that have been turned into gloomlings, to detect elemental activity, or to reveal things that are hidden, among other things. Can be used to defend something -or someone- from dark magic.

Darkness
Color: Black, any shade of purple
Represents: A black hole.
Associated to: Diaphragm
Used by Ishmael to turn potential victims into gloomlings, for unknown purposes. It can also conceal things even they are in plain sight. Can be used to defend something -or someone- from light magic.
