So...the moral of that wall of text is "Stay with an abusive spouse because they might do something bad if you leave."
That is terrible advice and you should feel terrible for advocating it.
Also, you give Jolly WAY too much credit. He's just copy pasting talking points from the mainstream media because he thinks it'll make him look smart and informed. He doesn't know jack about politics and his unfunny cartoons show it.

Ignore him, LordTHawkeye, he's grasping at straws. As you said, another political "sports fan". I hope, someday, they see the error of their ways, but they won't. They have a bad habit of doubling-down when things go poorly. How sad.

So you have no argument past "You iz just troll" which is not an argument at all.
Also, don't copy past media talking points. Didn't work for Jolly and it won't work for you here.

Scotland doing a second referendum? Well, it really depends on how pissed-off the Scots are on being forced out of the EU after the referendum result ("Stay in Britain") specifically requested that the UK stay in Europe. They can't really do two referendums in a row or they'll look weak. They need a moment where it's undeniably in Scotland's advantage to leave Britain, one where staying in the UK is generally seen as the less pleasant option.
Northern Ireland leaving? Not a chance.

Yeah, don't expect any help from the USA either. After failing to bully tariffs on China, the USA under Trump will shear the smaller sheep that's separated from the herd.
In other words, "You sure got a purdy mouth."

Oh please, you were in a position of weakness the moment the UK (especially London) was having less and less natives and more muslims.

You've a very blinkered view of the world if you're equating "muslim" with "all things foreign".

Oh far from it, but you know it is quite interesting how things start to go to shit the more and more ILLEGAL muslims you introduce into Europe. Need I remind the grooming gangs in the UK? How houndreds of children fell victim and nobody did anything? Or more recently with knife attacks, acid attacks even more grooming gangs and rape increasing? I have nothing against law abiding and legal non europeans, but this filth that is flooding us and takes from the tax paying population only to give violence is not something anyone should tolerate let alone ask more of. Stop defending scum.

Cabletwitch In reply to Mate397 [2019-12-20 03:13:32 +0000 UTC]
No, pretty sure it was more about the older generations remembering the UK pre-EU (Pre-EEC even) with the inevitable rose-tinted glasses on, and thinking we could go back to all that (Conveniently forgetting a lot of the 'good times' were on the back of a massive loss of working population due to 2 huge wars, and wages being high and prices low to encourage the rebuilding of the economy). Also the Tories and big businesses wanting to be able to remove or weaken things like worker rights, general immigration rules and tax laws.
But hey, you do you and keep projecting that idea. At least we get to know what kind of person you are.

Mate397 In reply to Cabletwitch [2019-12-21 13:55:01 +0000 UTC]
You know what else was back then in the UK? Less rape, knife and acid attacks, not to mention terrorist attacks. I also like how you just completely derail everything to bitch about boomers. At least I know what kind of person you are too.

Cabletwitch In reply to Mate397 [2019-12-22 03:49:45 +0000 UTC]
Less terrorism? No, I remember the IRA being pretty active back then. But then I suppose they don't count as 'foreign', so it's not real terrorism, right? And as for the 'boomers' thing... the vast majority of the voters in the leave camp were of the age 45+, so yes, it would be those generations that wanted this. Not sure about you, but most of the younger generations liked things like easy travel, economic stability, etc.

Not going to happen.
The SNP need Westminster to give permission to hold an independence referendum that they won't get and even Sturgeon's smart enough to know she can't just copy Catalonia and hold one illegally. ( a reminder the EU gave their full blessing to the Spanish police crackdown.)
