They have been wanting to have a religious war for quite some time and the only way to do that is to invite as much retaliation they can get from their perceived enemies as possible. That we had managed to hold off was a surprise to them after 9-11 because we didn't act the way that they had hoped. Drumming up support against them in this area has proven to be somewhat tepid is because the more moderates actually agree with them, save for those directly attacked.
Our greatest problem isn't that we cannot win, it is just how much can we do in this area without confronting the more powerful of their allies who covertly support them, or who are likely to side with them once their own agendas align. That means bothΒ Russia and China, who have been trying out their own muscle lately by incursions into the protected airspaces of others, including our own, and hacking into our databases.

That's the same thing I don't get. They kill and torture people and call us evil. They cut heads off and claim that their religion is one of peace and love. I mean, how can they commit acts of violence and call themselves peaceful. Do evil and claim their actions are in self-defense? If a solider kills a solider, that's war. If a solider kills a civilian, that's a crime.
These animals say that death fighting the evils of Allah is honorable and praise worthy. I say, let's grant them their wish and let them meet their god.

There shouldn't be, because there is no counter argument. You posted a cartoon that displays a simple truth when taken at face value.
But, it sure would be nice if you had leveled the playing field with a mirror strip about the people from "the west" who have profited from the dissolution of logic and progress in such parts of middle east.
It'd only be fair, JJ. As a human being with a little bit of knowledge and empathy of (& for) the world, it kind of goes unsaid that you are beating a dead horse on this one, and stirring "western extremists", who are already on the precipice of trolling the forum of your simple truth into a shit-storm. So in the end, all of your audience is alienated, from you and from each other, because they have no idea what the hell to agree upon. And this comic seems like a call for page-views.
This was hard to comment on at all. But it has been weeks since you posted and it came up in my watch-box. It didn't sit right in my stomach, and now I have idiots from work (who have neither the comprehension to understand that your use of the word "extreme" can apply across the board, or the empathy to even try to comprehend the life of someone living in areas affected), showing me this, thinking they are smart and funny, and toting off that all "Mussi's should die".

I did a comic about being rational after a shooting in the USA, and I still get people today arguing that I was trying to somehow undermine or make fun of all the innocent people who died. I can't imagine what would happen if I tried to tackle this sort of thing, especially so soon after events. Good luck!

A thing you have to note about radical Islam is that they also treat moderate Islam as Infidels as well.Β It all boils down to a selective interpretation of one bit of the Quran that allows them to treat other Muslims as if they were not even People of the Book if they do not believe as the radicals believe.Β That's why you have video of ISIL marching Syrian Troops (other Muslims) through the desert in their underwear to their execution site.
This group is different from the usual terrorist groups.Β The old groups just wanted Americans out of the Middle East.Β These folks want to create a new state by taking ground from the other states in the area.Β This tactic of trying to hold ground is going to be their downfall.Β They can't run and hide somewhere else.Β They're invested in holding what they've taken.Β The one thing they have in common with other states that have tried to hold out against the west is the use of women, children and the infirm as human shields.Β But, of course, they'd be the moderate women, children and inform so only the west would be concerned about them.
